EWF Modern, established in 2002, is a locally-owned "small, sleek showroom of jaw-droppingly cool furnishings" (Willamette Week). Our tight-knit team is all about working together to create in-store experiences that inspire, inform, delight, and empower our customers to make their homes more beautiful and livable.  We are committed to substance and style and are passionate about design.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The primary responsibility of the Showroom Manager is to provide the highest level of customer service by always striving to improve the customer experience.  This is demonstrated by providing expert knowledge in the showroom, offering prompt responses to website inquiries, and providing inspiring interior design solutions both in-store and in residential homes.  In addition to excellent customer service, the Showroom Manager will maintain the showroom, assist with all store operations and provide the leadership necessary to achieve projected sales goals.

ABOUT YOU

You are looking for a full-time position where you can have an immediate impact-both with our customers as well as within our team!  You are passionate about interior design and love to work with people.  You are a problem-solver and well-organized.  You are comfortable working independently but are great at collaborating.  You are genuine and engaging, have a sense of humor and excited  to hone your interior design skills.  You are ready to grow your business acumen by focusing on all aspects of operations- from sales to design, inventory to customer service support in a place where you can genuinely make a difference.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Professional.

  • Positive attitude.

  • 3-6 years of retail management in the interiors/home furnishings field or high-end consumer goods.

  • Proven background in retail selling.

  • Detail oriented.

  • Serve as a role model for customer service, design, and sales associates.

  • Ability to manage multiple shifting and competing priorities.

  • Solid computer + communication skills.

  • Flexible schedule to include 1 weekend day and some holidays.

  • Moderate physical activity is required.  Must be able to lift 20-40 lbs.  Must be able to walk/stand for extended periods of time.  The use of a step stool is required.

  • Familiarity with Squarespace.

  • Experience using social media (Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use product information and design knowledge to demonstrate merchandise features and benefits in store.

  • Provide prompt product knowledge and solutions to email inquiries. 

  • Sets a high standard of personal productivity for themselves and the rest of the team.

  • Provides exceptional customer service to maximize sales and ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Meet annual Showroom Manager Benchmark by growing store revenue to achieve annual store sale goals.

  • Collaborates with Marketing Designer to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual marketing objectives.

  • Collaborate with the designer on floor merchandising and floor changes.

  • Supervise design consultants, sales associates, and customer service representatives.

  • Coordinate logistics with warehouse(s) for prompt and successful delivery + installation.

  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures.

  • Perform all duties of Sales Associates, Interior Designers, Customer Service.

  • Conduct team meetings. 

  • Foster a positive store environment focused on teamwork and communication at all levels.

  • Sets a high standard of personal productivity for themselves and the rest of the team.

  • Assist with shared daily housekeeping tasks.

  • Monitor, maintain, and follow company policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional managerial duties as necessary and/or is requested by the company.

  •  Interview, hire, and train sales staff for showroom sales and design positions.

  • Create and nurture a positive team environment and a high level of energy and ambition with design consultants, sales associates, and customer service representatives to ensure sales growth.

  • Collaborates with designers and owner on floor merchandising and floor changes.

  • Supervises timecards.

  •  Collaborates with EWF Customer Service Representative/ manufacturers to resolve claims to the mutual satisfaction of customers and EWF Modern.

  • Organizes and oversees the work schedules.  

  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
